Is There An Acne Product That Actually Works For Combination Skin?
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010I’m 20 years old and should be past the puberty-style acne but it’s terrible and often stress activated. I’ve tried proactive, I’m on Yaz and about 1000 of countless other acne prevention products and programs. Is there a prescription or OTC remedy people who have failed with the same products have found successful? I’d really prefer to hear from people who have similar skin and tried the same products and have the same issues.

STOP popping the spots, also known as pimples and zits. This may make the pimple look worse due to inflammation and irritation. Popping a zit can spread infection under the skin and produce even more pimples than before. If you do pop a spot then immediately clean it with soap and water or rubbing alcohol in order to prevent infection. If a pimple erupts in a particularly bothersome place, learn how to target a single pimple. And if you’re determined to pop, learn how to pop a pimple safely and properly. If you do pop a pimple and you want to avoid anything resembling Western medicine, one thing to try is put a mixture of honey and ground cinnamon on the spot. Put a band-aid on it also. You may also want to stay away from stress.
Remove any make-up you have on. Wearing make-up can clog pores, making them dirty and causing pimples. Also try to wear oil-free makeup (if you have oily skin) or a medicated makeup.
Use a mild soap for sensitive skin but it doesn’t matter exactly what type of soap you use. It can be designed for acne-prone skin or not, but you will want to treat your skin gently. Harsh antibacterial soap may actually make your acne worse by irritating skin.
Remove dead skin cells regularly by exfoliating. Use a gentle scrub with natural defoliants like ground walnut shells, or use an over-the-counter chemical defoliant like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Adding ground walnut shell to a thick moisturizer like cocoa butter can be effective too. Take caution, because over-exfoliating can actually increase the likelihood of acne by irritating the skin. Pat dry, rather than rubbing, since rubbing can cause irritation to the fresh skin you’ve just revealed.
Bye…

I had the same problem. I tried everything until I did some research and actually found something that worked for me and a lot of other people. Actually, the key to getting rid of acne only relies partially on your product. The real key to getting rid of acne is creating a regimen that you follow daily. keeping your acne on a schedule is very important. To get rid of acne, the only thing you need is a GENTLE face wash (like noxema or cetiphil), a treatment product containing benzoyl peroxide (preferably nuetregena on the spot), and a good moisturizer. Most people mess up and make their acne WORSE because they fail to realize that using too many/too strong products only further irritate their acne. So it’s important to use a gentle face wash and moisturizer with no active ingredients. And be sure your treatment contains benzoyl peroxide. it works way better than salicylic acid. you can try biomedic skin care products.
these are suited for your skin type and yours alone.
your dermatologist or physician will prescribe it for you, after they determine your skin type and problems, so you are sure to receive the best products that truly are made for you. these products are natural and organic as well.
btw stop trying everything, that just makes it worse for your skin, and absorbing all those chemicals into your body is just asking for a disease.

My acne went away when i started eating healthily and STOPPED using products.
Buy some Bioderma Crealine H20 cleanser.
(Alcohol free, Non detergent, non foaming, neutral pH. Soap free.)
Try using honey as a facemask. And exfoliate using sugar.

Try using Murad products. They help with acne as well as dry skin. The moisturizer is great! Although it didn’t help me personally (I have severe acne and take percription meds.) I know ppl. that it did help.
