Is Excessive Urination When Blood Sugar Levels Are Low An Indication Of Diabetes?
Friday, February 12th, 2010
I’m 5’0 and 94 pounds and whenever my blood sugar levels are low, I urinate excessively- about 4-5 times within an hour. Is this a sign of dietary controlled diabetes? Answers are preferred from medical professionals.

To know blood sugar levels, blood sugar must be tested with a glucose meter. You’ll then know if you have a blood sugar problem (diabetes).

No.
The frequent urination from diabetes is caused by the blood sugar being consistently too high.
But the cloudy urine is your key. This shows “pus” in the urine, and possibly dead bacteria.
You probably have a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). THIS definitely needs to be seen by a doctor.

Get an HbA1c test. You can get one at any drug store but I recommend having your doctor order one for you. This will tell you how well your body processed blood sugars for the past 3 months. Anything under 7.0 is normal. The blood test is relatively inexpensive.

No excessive urination in diabetics is caused when blood sugars are high. I would suggest that you see you doctor as your urine should not be cloudy.
